Inter Milan assistant coach Massimiliano Farris believes the Nerazzurri’s cohesion as a group goes back to their preseason tour of Japan.

Farris spoke to InterTV after the team’s 2-0 Serie A win over Torino in place of Simone Inzaghi, via FCInterNews.

Inter kept their incredible season in Serie A going with a victory over Torino.

It was not an easy match for the Nerazzurri. Particularly in the first half, the Granata made life very difficult for them with a high-energy defensive approach aimed at disrupting their possession game.

But in the end, Inter found a way.

As they have done for virtually the entire season.

Inter looked every bit the team who clinched the title with give matches to go in the derby against their city rivals AC Milan as they saw off Ivan Juric’s Torino side.

Massimiliano Farris: “Inter Squad Cohesion Goes Back To Japan Tour”

Inter assistant coach Farris commented that “We’ve said to ourselves that it still hasn’t sunk in for us.”

“Then, during the week, we really started to feel the love of the fans.”

“Simone has always given a lot of credit to his coaching staff,” Farris said. “We told ourselves that we want to enjoy this right until the end.”

As far as the turning point for Inter that really set them off on this remarkable season in Serie A, Farris had a particular idea.

“Inzaghi referred to the preseason tour of Japan,” noted the Inter assistant coach.

“That came after a very turbulent summer,” he continued. Inter were in the midst of a whirlwind transfer window that saw twelve players leave and twelve come in to replace them.

“It was incredibly hot there,” Farris noted.

“But the guys didn’t spare any energy.”

“That was where the cohesion of this group was born,” said the Nerazzurri assistant coach.

“Then when we went to Riyadh [for the Supercoppa Italiana in January], we were more worried about using up too much energy,” he continued.

“At the time, we were behind Juventus in the table.”

“But the sequence of matches after that was what really defined our path,” Farris said.
