Inter Milan are among the clubs who could pounce to sign Boca Juniors defender Nicolas Valentini during the summer transfer window.

Italian outlet Gazzetta.it report that the Nerazzurri could sign the 23-year-old defender for a cut-price view in view of the fact that his contract with Boca runs out at the end of December.

Valentini is a player currently under contract with Boca until the end of December of this year.

And this could mark the Argentine out as an opportunity for this summer.

Alternatively, Valentini could very well leave Boca on a free transfer in less than a year’s time. This would be possible if the Argentine giants fail to either extend the player’s contract, or cash in this summer.

But according to the Gazzetta, Boca would be very much willing to sell Valentini for a cut-price fee this summer.

Valentini has been on Inter’s player for a while.

The 23-year-old was among the players who Nerazzurri Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin had scouted whilst he was in South America to monitor young talent in December of last year.

Baccin is the man who heads up Inter’s scouting operation in South America.

The Nerazzurri’s predilection to search for young players from the continent is no big secret.

For example, Inter signed their captain Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club. That is just the most recent success story.

And relations between Inter and Boca are positive.

However, the Gazzetta report, the Argentine club held firm on an asking price of €10 million for Valentini when Inter last inquired.

But with the defender’s contract situation, that figure would be likely to drop this summer.

The Gazzetta report that Inter are one of the main clubs considering taking advantage.

However, the newspaper anticipate, there are around ten clubs between Italy, Spain, and England who consider Valentini a target.
