Inter were forced into a change at half-time against Bologna, as Carlos Augusto had a muscular issue, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be ready to face Atletico Madrid.

The left-wing-back had been in the starting XI at the Stadio Dall’Ara this evening, but remained in the locker room after the break.

According to DAZN and Sky Sport Italia, the Brazilian felt a twinge in his calf muscle and coach Simone Inzaghi preferred not to risk making it any worse.

He was replaced by Denzel Dumfries, moving Matteo Darmian from the right side of the five-man midfield.

Carlos Augusto was not expected to start against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday evening, because Federico Dimarco is the favourite for that role on the left.

Lautaro Martinez was also rested with Bologna, while Marcus Thuram, Francesco Acerbi and Hakan Calhanoglu all returned to the starting XI after injuries.

Inter won the first leg of that Champions League tie 1-0 thanks to a Marko Arnautovic strike and the decider is at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.
