Real Madrid star pipped to Champions League Player of the Week award | OneFootball

The winner of the Champions League Player of the Week award has been made official by UEFA.

As much, of course, comes fresh off another pulsating week of action on European football’s grandest stage.

Owing to respective victories over Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid booked their spots in the upcoming Champions League finale.

En route to as much, a whole host of players enjoyed starring roles, including the likes of Nico Schlotterbeck, and Toni Kroos.

In the end, though, the Man of the Match awards, and ensuing nominations for Player of the Week, went to Mats Hummels, and Vinícius Jr.

The former rolled back the years with another world-class display at centre-back for Dortmund, whilst Vinícius was in irresistible form down the left flank for Real Madrid against Bayern.

And the votes are now in, for the standout performer of the 2nd legs of the Champions League semi-finals.

The Player of the Week? Mats Hummels.
