Inter will take a close look at two Bologna players during Wednesday’s make-up game: Sam Beukema and Santiago Castro. They are on the wish list for the summer, when the front office plots to make moves in their roles, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
The Nerazzurri are particularly interested in the striker to succeed Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa. They will both come off their books in a few months. They are trying to set up an acquisition for the new transfer window in early June so he could be available for the Club World Club.
It obviously remains to be seen whether the Felsinei would be willing to sell him and for how much. They nabbed him early to replace Joshua Zirkzee, shelling out €13.2M to onboard him from Velez Sarsfield. He has tallied 5 goals and 7 assists in 24 matches this campaign.
While Inter want Castro to replenish their frontline behind the starters, Beukema is a prominent target to substitute for Francesco Acerbi and/or Stefan de Vrij. Both players are worth €25/30M. The defender has one fewer year on his contract with the Rossoblù, which runs until 2027.
The former AZ star, who’s 26, recently voiced his desire to transfer to a big team sooner rather than later. He’s been linked to Juventus too, but Bologna have refused to sell players to the Bianconeri after the Thiago Motta saga.
The Felsinei follow the Atalanta model and have already had their fair share of major sales even after the Champions League qualification. The center-back is more likely to depart since he’s older, while the marksman has a lot of untapped potential and a potentially burgeoning price tag.
