With Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti in pole position to return to Real Madrid as a replacement for outgoing manager Zinedine Zidane, the Merengues will be keen to bring back Antonio Pintus as a trainer after two seasons at Inter.

In today’s print edition of Madrid-based newspaper El Mundo it is reported that Real Madrid’s search for a new manager is nearly over, with Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, formerly of AC Milan and Napoli among others, close to an agreement.

Mundo are further reporting that Madrid will bring fitness coach Pintus back to work with Ancelotti as they attempt to shape the team to Ancelotti’s specifications.

Pintus was a key member of recently departed Inter manager Antonio Conte’s staff during the Italian’s two seasons at Inter.

Over the past two seasons, Inter’s fitness record has not caused many problems for the club, whereas Madrid’s injury problems by contrast have been significant at times – it is thought that by bringing Pintus back the club intend to rectify this issue going forward.
