Inter draw 2-2 with Bologna at San Siro

In their rearranged matchday 19 clash against Bologna, Inter were held to a 2-2 draw at San Siro. In an exciting encounter full of tension, the Nerazzurri came from behind to take a lead into half-time. Castro opened the scoring in the 15th minute, diverting a shot from Moro into the net. However, Inzaghi’s men responded immediately, playing some exceptional football involving the whole team. With 19 minutes on the clock, Thuram burst forward and set up Dimarco, whose effort was saved by Skorupski; however, Dumfries was there to tap home the rebound and make it 1-1. The Nerazzurri then started to create numerous chances before finally going in front on the stroke of half-time through Lautaro, who finished off Dimarco’s low cross with aplomb.

The second half was played at a lower tempo as Bologna looked to draw level, but Sommer was in fine form between the sticks. Nevertheless, the Inter goalkeeper could do nothing about the Rossoblù’s equaliser, which arrived after 64 minutes: Dimarco was unable to sufficiently clear a cross from the left and Orsolini cut it back for Holm, whose strike went in via a deflection off Bastoni. The match then became a much scrappier affair, although Taremi had two big chances to win it. The Nerazzurri did all that they could to find a winner but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw, meaning they now have 44 points from 19 matches, three fewer than league leaders Napoli (who, however, have played a game more).
