Sucic has very much emerged as a player on Inter’s radar.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri have already begun talks with Dinamo Zagreb to try and sign the 21-year-old.

Inter’s plan would be to sign Sucic as early as the January transfer window. However, they don’t want to bring him into the squad immediately.

Rather, Inter are ready to loan Sucic back to Dinamo for the rest of the season.

There is also the fact that Sucic is currently out with an injury. That means that the Croat would hardly represent a solution to Inter’s current injury crisis in midfield.

Inter Earmark Petar Sucic As Heir Apparent To Brozovic

Sucic is already a full Croatian international. He has made five appearances for his senior national team since the fall.

Inter have enjoyed great success signing Croatian players in recent years.

Ivan Perisic and Mateo Kovacic are among the Croatian internationals to feature for the Nerazzurri.

But perhaps none have had more of an impact that Marcelo Brozovic.

Brozovic made well over three hundred appearances for the Nerazzurri. He established himself as the fulcrum of the midfield prior to his departure in 2023.

It is Hakan Calhanoglu who has stepped into the shoes of Brozovic. And it is safe to say that the 30-year-old has managed to make the holding midfield role his own.

However, Inter are already thinking about the future beyond Calhanoglu.

The Nerazzurri have yet to see clear signs that Kristjan Asllani would be capable of starting at the base of midfield in the long term.

Therefore, it could be Sucic who ends up being the long-term heir to his compatriot Brozovic.
