Inter Defender Skriniar: “Barcelona Are More Than Just Messi, Conte Has Always Told Us To Play To Win” | OneFootball

Milan Skriniar spoke at the pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League clash away to Spanish powerhouses Barcelona.

“The match of our life awaits us tomorrow and then we will have to also be ready to face Juventus. It is nice for all the players to be able to face the best players in the world in the Champions League but we have to be ready,” he began.

“Barcelona are more than just Lionel Messi, they have a lot of other top players. We are working very well though and tomorrow will be a good match.”

He then spoke on how he has found the transition from playing in a four man defence to a three man defence.

“For sure there are differences, but even in this system we have found some principles already used in the past few years. We have worked very hard since the first day on this, so there is no problems. We must continue like this, as we have done so far, possibly improving ourselves further.”

“So far we have done very well, but there is still room for some improvement. It will be good for us to come up against Barcelona. Our defensive approach does not only depend on the defensive line, we are a whole team and this is fundamental.”

The Slovakian defender concluded by speaking on how he has found working under Antonio Conte.

“From the first day since he took charge, he has always told us to play to win and make the most of what we have available to us.”
