Inter are looking to Oumar Solet and Jaka Bijol as potential reinforcements to bring down the average age of their defence next season.
The Nerazzurri need to keep costs under control following the takeover from Oaktree, as Suning failed to repay the €395m including interest loan last week.
It should make relatively little difference, as the club has been operating under its own steam for some time now, not adding to the massive debts that were previously accumulated.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of the areas that needs work is the defence, as Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are getting to the end of their San Siro careers.
Relatively cheap options to replace them include Udinese defender Bijol, who has now recovered from a stress fracture in his foot that he sustained in February.
The cost of the operation would be €15-20m, but as he is under contract until June 2027, Udinese could be open to a loan with option to buy, or include some youth players in an exchange deal.
Another target is Solet, who will be out of contract in June 2025 with Red Bull Salzburg.
Despite being only 24 years of age, the Frenchman already has Champions League experience and would fit tactically into Simone Inzaghi’s ideas.
Solet had already been heavily linked with both Roma and Napoli in January.
