Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi and CEO Beppe Marotta have told President Steven Zhang not to sanction the sale of a big name player from the starting eleven so close to the start of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corrirere della Sera, who report that Inzaghi and Marotta spoke with the President yesterday evening where they emphasized that losing a key player at this stage of the summer could be disastrous for the team’s preparations.

There is no certainty that Inter will not make a big sale before the summer transfer window slams shut, with Paris Saint-Germain still after defender Milan Skriniar while Chelsea are chasing Denzel Dumfries.

The issue now, however, is that there would be little time left to regroup and compensate for the loss of an important player if one were to take place, and so Inzaghi and Marotta have made it clear to the President that the strategy should now be to keep the existing team together regardless of financial need.
