Inter have already agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji, but have yet to convince his club on a loan deal for the 26-year-old.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Schwarzgelben are not yet open to extending the Swiss international’s contract and then loaning him out and that they’re still holding out for an offer of €15-20 million.

Inter look to have identified Akanji as their preferred target to complete the defensive options for the season, and for his part the player wants the move and has already agreed personal term with the Nerazzurri.

One possibility that the Nerazzurri have explored for making the deal financially feasible is a loan, although this would require Dortmund to extend his deal by a season as it currently runs out at the end of June 2023.

However, the Schwarzgelben are not keen on this idea at the moment and would rather simply sell Akanji outright.
