The Spanish FA have announced that clubs will be able to make five substitutions per game during the 2020/21 season.

The decision was communicated on Tuesday afternoon and will take effect in all Spanish competitions.

Clubs will also be allowed to name a matchday squad of up to 23 players.

The rule to allow five subs, brought in midway through last season after the coronavirus pandemic paused football around the globe, will be retained for the upcoming campaign.
