Journalist Matteo Moretto has confidently stated that Leny Yoro, the defender from Lille, has put Real Madrid at the top of his list of preferences. However, Moretto also acknowledges that there are several other clubs vying for Leny’s attention, a fact he is acutely aware of.

According to Moretto, the likelihood of Leny moving to Real Madrid hinges significantly on the price the Ligue 1 side set for him.

Real Madrid, it seem, are not keen on splurging for a player whose contract only runs until 2025. Although Lille are demanding a hefty €60 million, Real Madrid are aiming to negotiate a lower price.

Real Madrid are patient about Yoro

Consequently, Real Madrid are adopting a patient stance. The steep asking price set by Lille has prompted the Madrid club to hold off on an immediate bid, preferring to wait for a more favourable opportunity.

Despite their keen interest, Real Madrid are not hurrying to finalize the defender’s transfer. While they are aware of interest from Premier League clubs, it does not seem to trouble them greatly.

Real Madrid want Yoro to push for a move

What adds intrigue to the situation is Real Madrid’s desire for Leny to express his eagerness to join them, indicating a genuine interest in playing for the Spanish giants.

However, this presents a dilemma as leaving Lille without compensating the club, given Leny’s contract situation, is not ideal. Ultimately, the decision rests with Leny and his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Discussions regarding his potential transfer, along with other signings, have been ongoing at Real Madrid for months. However, significant movements in the transfer market are not expected until the conclusion of all club competitions.

At that point, Real Madrid will be primed to seize any opportunity to secure a promising talent like Leny, who is seen as a vital asset for the team’s future.
