‘I was in disbelief’ – How Leao made Milan U9s player’s dream come true | OneFootball

A small gesture from Rafael Leao made the dream of an AC Milan U9s player come true against Hellas Verona before the international break.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera (via Radio Rossonera), there is a very sweet story attached to the red and black wristband that Leao was wearing when the Rossoneri beat Verona 3-1.

It turns out the cuff, that has ‘Leao 10’ on it, originally belonged to a member of the Milan U9s called Samuel. Young Samuel had been in the tunnel ahead of the match against Empoli and got the chance to meet his idol, and he decided to give that cuff to Leao.

“I was in disbelief. My heart was pounding. I gave it to him because Rafa is my idol,” Samuel said.

Leao accepted the gift and then chose to wear it when he faced Verona and it clearly brought the team good luck as it was a comprehensive victory, even if Leao did not score.

Naturally, Samuel will hope that Leao continues to wear it in future games but even if he does not, the young boy’s dream has already come true.

He will be watching closely when Leao takes to the field against Fiorentina.
