Chelsea have been actively searching for a striker during this transfer window, even before the injury to top goalscorer Tammy Abraham.

There have been a number of links to Paris Saint-Germainā€™s Edinson Cavani and RB Leipzigā€™s Timo Werner.

Speaking after Saturdayā€™s victory at Hull, Lampard said: ā€œHe got his goal so Iā€™m pleased as itā€™ll help his confidence.

ā€œI want him firing, I want to see him performing. Heā€™s an out and out striker, an international striker.

ā€œIā€™ve said all season, we canā€™t just rely on Tammy.ā€

Batshuayi, who signed for Chelsea from Marseille for ā‚¬39m in 2016, has 16 goals in 29 caps for Belgium.
