A member of the Barcelona loan army has today moved to clarify his future with the club.

The player in question? Sergiño Dest.

Defender Dest, for his part, secured a fresh departure from Catalunya’s capital last summer.

After a dismal stint in Italy with AC Milan, the 23-year-old was swiftly farmed out on a fresh season-long loan, on this occasion linking up with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

And, safe to say, Dest’s time in the Eredivisie has since proven an altogether more productive affair.

All told, the United States international has racked up 37 appearances across all competitions, notching a pair of goals and an impressive seven assists along the way.

Such exploits have proven central to PSV romping towards the club’s latest league title.

Media speculation, in turn, has long pointed towards the brass in Eindhoven as preparing an offer to make Dest’s arrival permanent with a view to next season.

And, if the latest comments on the part of the talented full-back himself are anything to go by, this is a path forward which he too would favour over any other.

“PSV is happy with me and I’m enjoying my time here,” Dest explained to ESPN, as cited by Mundo Deportivo.

He continued:

“My future? We’ll see. [A return to] Barcelona? No, I want to grow. Wherever I am in the future, I want to play and improve.”
