Gareth Southgate’s England side did not enjoy the best of results in the recently concluded international break.

In what were their final friendly games before the European Championships, they lost 1-0 to Brazil at Wembley before securing just a draw against Belgium.

Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham started on both nights and even scored a late 95th-minute equaliser for his team in the game against Belgium to save their blushes.

Bellingham is still in disbelief

Speaking in a recent interview, the Real Madrid phenom expressed how surreal it felt to play for a club like Real Madrid and England.

The 20-year-old was asked whether he feels like living a dream, to which he replied: “Yeah, I do feel like that sometimes. I wake up and I have to pinch myself when I’m playing for England at Wembley or playing for Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.”

The attacking midfield sensation was then quizzed on what comprised success for him, and how he would like to measure his success in the long term.

“Trophies, I think. Being able to give my country and my team Real Madrid great experiences & great memories of lifting trophies.”

Back in the dynamics

Having received his marching orders for protesting against the referee’s mistake at Mestalla, Bellingham was suspended for two games.

The young phenom thus sat out Real Madrid’s clashes against Celta Vigo and Osasuna, both of which the team comfortably coasted through.

Returning to La Liga after two match days, Bellingham is all set to start in Real Madrid’s upcoming clash against Athletic Club de Bilbao which will prove to be a gruelling test.

With Vinicius Jr suspended on the night and Eduardo Camavinga a doubt through injury, the pressure will be on the young English sensation to step up and make the difference.
