Manchester United could be severely weakened when they take on Spurs in the UEFA Europa League final at San Mamés on 21 May, with Ruben Amorim revealing some worrying team news in a press conference on Wednesday.

At UEFA’s official media access day, the Portuguese boss was questioned on the availability of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Light and Ayden Heaven after the trio missed open training. Amorim admitted: “I don’t know if they are going to be available. We are going to try and push because it’s the final matches and this is a final, you know that.”

“All the players want to play that really bad. I don’t know, I think they will not go to Chelsea, but we will have a possibility to have some of them for the final,” he expressed, with United just seven days away from their first European final in four years.

Asked if Diogo Dalot’s participation in Bilbao next week is also doubtful because of injury, Amorim noted that the defender “is trying really bad.”

“I don’t want to risk Dalot,” the 40-year-old told the gathered media at Carrington, “because when you start getting one injury, second injury [follows] and it’s a big thing. We cannot have these kinds of problems in our squad. So, we will see, but he’s working really hard to get in the final.”

Manchester United take on Spurs in the UEFA Europa League final next Wednesday, with kickoff at San Mamés scheduled for 20:00 BST [21:00 CEST].
