Neither HuracĂĄn nor defending champions Boca Juniors could muster meaningful attacks in a sleepy draw.
Boca Juniors suffered defeat in their previous league match against Estudiantes prompting manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto to make a number of changes to the starting lineup. Unfortunately for the Xeneizes, Huracån held them to a scoreless draw at the Tomås A. Ducó Stadium on Sunday night.
Fernando Gago returned to the field after a difficult recovery from ruptured knee ligaments but he failed to provide a spark for the visitors. The 32-year old midfielder suffered a serious knee injury on Argentina national team duty in October 2017 and has endured multiple setbacks in his quest for full fitness.
HuracĂĄn looked to emulate the defensive success that Estudiantes enjoyed in their 2-0 win over Boca Juniors in matchday 2. To that end, Globo defenders closed down the space that Bocaâs front three like to operate in.
While the home teamâs game-plan limited the chances against them, HuracĂĄn failed to generate much going forward of their own.
The match ended with just three shots on target between the two sides.
After three matches in the 2018-19 SuperLiga Argentina, two-time reigning champions Boca Juniors sit in the rather mediocre 12th place of 26 teams with four points.
On the other side, Huracån have earned just two points from three games and currently hold 21st place.
