Dark horse Hungarians unbeaten in qualifying
Hungary are being tipped as one of the dark horses for Euro 2024 as they begin their campaign against Switzerland in Group A.
Marco Rossi’s side went unbeaten through qualifying and look a much-improved side to the one who exited in the group stage of Euro 2020 in dramatic fashion.
Their 4-0 win over England in 2022 proved what a dangerous team they can be.
The Swiss, meanwhile, endured a difficult qualification process and finished second behind Romania. That led to manager Murat Yakin coming under huge scrutiny but he kept his job.
Having reached the knockout stages in the last five international tournaments, they are at least hugely experienced on this stage.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Laszlo Kleinheisler impressed at times during the last Euros.
For the Swiss, this is a golden generation.
Granit Xhaka was influential in securing a first Bundesliga title in Bayer Leverkusen’s history, while Manuel Akanji and Yann Sommer enjoyed success with Manchester City and Inter Milan respectively.
Hungary certainly look worth their tag of dark horses but the Swiss are so experienced.
