Hull City agree fee with Aston Villa for Keinan Davis | OneFootball

Hull City have reached an agreement with Aston Villa over a deal to sign English striker Keinan Davis.

The Athletic reports that the arrangement will see the Villans pocket around £2 million plus add-ons.

Villa are determined to remove the 25-year-old from their payroll, and Hull are happy to take him off their hands.

However, the player is not entirely sold on a move to the MKM Stadium, which could jeopardise the prospect of finalising an agreement on personal terms.

Davis has plenty of admirers in the Championship and has also been linked with a move to Premier League newcomers Luton Town.

He is poised to leave the Birmingham club on a permanent deal this summer, having entered the final year of his contract.

The former England under-20 international bagged just seven goals in 34 Championship appearances while on loan at Watford last season.

With Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran currently in the squad, Davis is not in Unai Emery’s long-term plans at Villa Park and the club is determined to cut him loose after eight years.

Hull are hugely interested in landing his signature despite his paltry statistics from last season, but they still need to persuade him to join the club.

The Tigers are also interested in signing Villa winger Jaden Philogene and are pursuing a deal worth around £5m.

Emery was eager to keep the 21-year-old at the club this season to bolster his squad depth in the forward areas.

However, the England U20 international is keen to explore his options in pursuit of regular first-team football, which Emery cannot guarantee.

Philogene spent the last campaign on loan at Cardiff City and was relatively impressive, although his numbers contradict that assertion.

He contributed just four goals in 37 second-tier appearances but also created two big chances and averaged 1.7 tackles per game which highlights his incredible work rate.

The youngster also made himself a handful for the Championship defenders, completing 55% of his attempted dribbles while winning 50% of his ground duels.
