Shota Arveladze has been sacked from his position as head coach at Hull City, the club have announced.
The Georgian took over in January and led the Tigers to safety with a 19th place finish.
Their current start to the season has been inconsistent, with three wins, two draws and five defeats from their opening 10 games leaving them in 20th.
In a brief statement, chairman Acun Ilıcalı claims the decision was down to a disagreement on the club’s future.
“During the international break, we had a number of meetings with Shota to discuss the direction of the team and the future of the club,” he said.
“As these meetings went on, it became clear our views weren’t aligned so we have made the decision to part ways.”
The timing is surprising as Arveladze undertook media duties on Thursday ahead of Friday night’s clash with Luton Town, with Andy Dawson taking over as interim coach for that clash.
