Queens Park Rangers are set to pull off a real coup in the transfer market by landing highly sought-after Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone, in a deal potentially worth up to £5m.

The future of the 22-year-old has been an ongoing saga throughout the summer, with Leicester City and Swansea City both emerging as leading candidates to sign the striker, but neither ended up winning the race.

Instead, Kone is set to head to Loftus Road to join QPR, after a deal between the London club and former acquaintances Wycombe was reportedly struck, which will see the R's pay £2.75m up front, with £2.25m in add-ons in the future, whilst Wanderers also have a 22.5% sell-on clause.

This is another exciting addition to Julien Stephan's side, which is beginning to take shape after an excellent transfer window.

So, Football League World decided to look at what a fully-fit QPR side could look like, with the addition of Kone, and how lethal their attack could be in the Championship this season.

GK - Paul Nardi

R's stopper Paul Nardi wasn't picked at the weekend, with Joe Walsh being given the nod instead. However, he is still expected to be the club's number one this season.

The 31-year-old played all but one game last season, keeping nine clean sheets and enjoying a solid first season in English football.

RB - Jimmy Dunne

Another huge coup this summer for QPR was keeping hold of skipper Jimmy Dunne amid interest from other Championship sides.

He's currently sidelined with a hip injury he sustained in pre-season, but when fit, he walks into that defence over Kieran Morgan, who filled in as a makeshift right-back.

CB - Amadou Mbengue

Stephan has spent a lot of his first summer at the helm of the London-based club shopping for some of the best talent in League One, with Amadou Mbengue certainly being one of those.

The defender arrived on a free from Reading after two excellent years in Berkshire, and slots perfectly into a very strong R's defence.

CB - Steve Cook

Veteran defender Steve Cook didn't start in the opening day draw with Preston North End, as he was returning from an injury, but did make an appearance off the bench.

With the youthful Mbengue next to him, the mixture of experience and up-and-coming talent could be a great blend for QPR.

LB - Esquerdinha

Currently, the only recognised left-back on the books at QPR, Brazilian prodigy Esquerdinha could be in for his breakout season in the EFL, after arriving at the club in January.

The 19-year-old made his senior EFL debut on Saturday, and is a hugely exciting prospect for Stephan to potentially develop into a diamond.

CM - Jonathan Varane

Jonathan Varane enjoyed a strong first season in English football, becoming a stalwart in the QPR midfield, which drew interest from Spanish side Espanyol this summer.

However, the Frenchman remains an R's player, and will likely play a key role in his compatriot's engine room this season, despite missing some of pre-season with a leg injury, and then missing the opening Championship match with a concussion.

CM - Nicolas Madsen

The most likely option to deputise Field in the middle of the park is Nicolas Madsen, who featured more regularly in a box-to-box role last season.

After a strong debut campaign in the Championship, the Dane will be hoping to kick on and replicate the form he showed at Westerlo.

LW - Karamoko Dembele

After catching the eye at Blackpool two seasons ago, QPR secured the first piece of their hugely exciting attacking puzzle last summer, before making the deal permanent.

A direct and rapid winger, Karamoko Dembele brings a huge threat down the left-hand side, and will be a great support for the new striker.

AM - Ilias Chair

One of the best playmakers in the Championship's recent history, most strikers would do anything to have a creative outlet, such as Ilias Chair sitting behind them and pulling the strings.

QPR have managed to keep hold of the Moroccan for many years, and that could pay dividends this summer, as he will be a key cog in Stephen's new-look attacking unit.

RW - Kwame Poku

The London-based club caught the eye earlier in the summer by swooping quickly to secure the services of Peterborough United star Kwame Poku, who has been one of the biggest threats in League One over the last two years.

Similarly to Dembele, Poku is a direct and quick winger, with a great eye for goal. Having him, Dembele, and Chair all sitting behind the striker gives the R's plenty of excellent creative and goalscoring outlets.
