Daniel Farke's side are looking to acquire the former England international.
Leeds United are looking to make a big splash this summer with AC Milan centre-forward Tammy Abraham on their list of transfer targets.
Daniel Farke's side will accept nothing less than promotion to the Premier League this season after narrowly missing out on it in the 2023/24 campaign, and, as part of their hopeful preparations for a return to the top table, they are looking to acquire some proven talent at the level this summer.
Abraham, 27, scored 26 goals in the English top flight over his four seasons in the division before moving on to Italy, where he hit the ground running with AS Roma under José Mourinho, in the 2021/22 campaign, scoring 17 goals in his debut campaign in the country.
Performances and production levels have tailed off since then, leading to a loan move to AC Milan at the start of this season, but he's started to re-find his mojo in recent weeks.
The 27-year-old was first reported to be on the radar of the Elland Road natives by TBR Football. Leeds aren't set to be the only ones in the hunt for the ex-Chelsea striker though, as a number of Premier League sides, including West Ham United, Wolves and Everton, are all being linked with Abraham.
The AC loanee recently gave an interview to CBS Sports Golazo in which he dropped a hint about his currently uncertain future, suggesting that he may end up following American international teammate Christian Pulisic to the land of the free if he were ever to return to his home country.
Abraham said: "If the subject of America came up, I told (Pulisic) if they were willing to offer him a deal, he should take me along with him. You never know things in football. You never know life and God’s plans, so if it came one day, you know, absolutely."
To go from playing Champions League football to a current Championship side, as much as Leeds' aspiration is to have that changed by the time the transfer window opens on the 16th June 2025, would be a big career deviation for Abraham were he to make that move.
It'd not just be a big shift for player but for club as well, purely because of the wages that the striker would command. Caught Offside reported that Abraham would want £97,000 per week, or just over £5 million per year, in order to move to Elland Road, but a new update has suggested that this number would need to be a bit higher.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have said that Abraham, who is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, is currently on a €6 million (£5.125 million) per year contract - a figure that may make it hard for Milan to make his current loan deal permanent in the summer should they choose to pursue him.
This suggests that he is earning just shy of £100,000 per week - a good £30,000 per week/£1.5 million per year more than Leeds' highest estimated earner: Patrick Bamford.
Acquiring Abraham is only a possibility in the event that Leeds do secure their long-awaited Premier League return, which would come with a big increase in revenue that would help them to complete deals such as this. Even still, it'd be a big step for them to make, financially.
