Born in Munich, and progressing through the academy ranks at 1860 Munich, Robert Glatzel spent all the early years of his career in his homeland.
Impressing during spells with FC Kaiserslautern and FC Heidenheim, a move to Cardiff City came to fruition in the summer of 2019.
In what was his first adventure outside of Germany, Glatzel put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium, proceeding to make his first start on game week two for the Welsh club, a 2-1 victory over Luton Town.
The towering forward netted his first goal for the Bluebirds in what was his sixth appearance of the season, with Glatzel winning and then subsequently scoring a penalty to level the game during a 1-1 draw at Derby County.

With a combination of form and injuries limiting him to 23 starts in the Championship that year, Glatzel managed to return seven goals.
The following season, Glatzel managed three goals in 21 appearances during the first half of the season before embarking on a loan at FSV Mainz 05, scoring twice in the process.
Permanently departing the South Wales club in the summer of 2021, Glatzel returned to Germany and joined Hamburger SV in Bundesliga 2.
Enjoying a mightily productive first season with the German outfit, Glatzel managed to return 27 goals in 41 appearances.
He has enjoyed a similarly electric start to this new campaign, with the 28-year-old scoring six and providing a further two assists in 10 matches thus far.
