And the news will no doubt be met with collective excitement on the part of the club’s fanbase.

This comes amid claims that the Brazilian sensation could yet make his way back to Catalunya, for the 2024/25 campaign.

Sávio, for his part, recently put pen to paper on terms with Premier League champions Manchester City – Pep Guardiola’s troops making full use of their position at the head of the ‘City Group’ table.

The 19-year-old, in turn, is primed to link up with the Sky Blues’ squad in Manchester in the summer.

However, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, this does not necessarily mean that Sávio will line out for City next season.

As per a report from Diario Sport, Girona are fully focused on bringing their attacking starlet back to the club next time out.

Sávio is currently in the midst of a year-long loan at the Estadi Montilivi from French outfit Troyes – another member of the City Group.

It remains to be seen whether or not Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff decide that their latest signing is yet ready to compete with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, and Jérémy Doku for playing time next season.

Still just 19, it is not out of the question that Sávio, in turn, could be farmed out for another term, in a bid to continue his development at the top level.

And Sport note that, should Girona ultimately go on to secure Champions League qualification over the coming months, Míchel’s troops will position themselves at the front of the queue for his services.
