The Dons announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.
Kirby joined Liverpool last summer after leaving the club’s Merseyside rivals Everton. The 19-year-old featured for The Reds in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup before impressing in three Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at the end of the season.
With Liverpool having signed Australian international keeper Teagan Micah this summer, Kirby cannot be guaranteed minutes this season therefore she has been sent out on loan for the first half of the campaign.
After completing her loan move to Aberdeen, Kirby said “I’m excited for this new challenge and I feel like I could really develop here and take my game to the next level.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the club and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Kirby joins an Aberdeen side that finished last season in ninth position in the SWPL 1. There are signs that the quality in the league is growing with several clubs making some impressive additions so far in the summer transfer window.
