Heung-Min Son named Player of the Year at London Football Awards

The Premier League Player of the Year at the London Football Awards has been given to Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son.

In addition to 16 goals and nine assists in 34 games in all competitions this campaign, Son and South Korea took home the gold at the 2018 Asian Games – which granted Son and his team-mates an exemption from 21 months of mandatory military service.

Son beat out team-mate Harry Kane, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Crystal Palace’s Andros Townsend, and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the honor.

Spurs completed a sweep of the top awards as Mauricio Pochettino was named Manager of the Year.

Kane won the LFA’s Player of the Year honor in 2018.

West Ham’s Declan Rice took home the Young Player of the Year award.
