Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Chelsea sensation Cole Palmer has lavished praise on Barcelona gem Lamine Yamal, hailing him as the best player in the world.

This comes after a spectacular breakthrough season in 2023/24, which was capped off by him helping Spain win the UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.

Given his exploits over the past year, the La Masia sensation is already in the conversation for the Ballon d’Or this year.

Palmer joins in the praise

Yamal has earned praise from all quarters owing to his explosive form for Barcelona and now Palmer has also joined in to wax lyrical over the Spanish winger.

The Chelsea rising star expressed his amazement at the things that the teenage sensation does despite being only 17 years old.

“Lamine Yamal? It’s mad, innit? I honestly think he’s the best player in the world,” said Palmer.

Continuing, he added: “I feel like everything they do, goes through him, and when you watch him – [just] mad!

When asked how hard is it to do all that at 17, Palmer replied: “I don’t know, I never tried it!”

“He’s got confidence, got no fear, and I love watching him,” the former Manchester City ace further stated.

Having helped Barcelona win the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, Lamine will be aiming to lead the team to a victory tonight against RCD Espanyol which will help them clinch the La Liga title as well – completing the domestic treble.
