Newcastle 2 Chelsea 0 – Wednesday 30 October 7.45pm
The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see tonight.
A goal up on 23 minutes.
Two up on 26 minutes.
Lovely.
Perfect revenge for Sunday’s defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Alexander Isak scoring goals in successive matches against Chelsea and the visitors pressurised into giving away an own goal.
Finally, another winning snapshot post-match.
Another photo = The fifth of this season.
The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.
It is actually the sixth victory of the season but for whatever reasons, no winning photo after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Can only guess winning 1-0 at home to League Two opposition might have looked a ‘little’ lame.
So this is the first victory photo in six and a half weeks since the win at Wolves.
Great to see.
It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.
‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc’
I absolutely love it.
Twenty nine more Premier League games to go, as well as fingers crossed plenty more cup matches, so hopefully many more of these photos to come.
