The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and he seems set to embark on a new challenge.

Nicolas Jackson to join Bayern Munich on loan

Chelsea had initially valued Jackson at around £80m, but it became clear potential suitors weren’t going to pay that price, and they received no permanent offers.

The Blues then made it clear they were open to loan offers for Jackson under the right conditions, which included an obligation to buy and big loan fee.

Aston Villa had shown interest, but Jackson wanted to join Bayern Munich and Romano has now provided an update on the deal.

He took to X.com and said:

“EXCL: Nicolas Jackson to Bayern, here we go!

“Deal agreed with Chelsea on initial loan move.

“€15m loan fee for one season plus buy option clause not mandatory for €80m package and sell-on clause.

“Jackson, set to fly to Bavaria with his agent Ali Barat from Epic Sports.”

Jackson is in line to make his Bayern debut after the international break, and it will be interesting to see how he does this season.
