Heracles have released a statement that claims they plan to appeal against the red card received by Bryan Limbombe in the weekend’s 2-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven. The winger was sent off for a foul on experienced striker Luuk de Jong, with the Dutch KNVB proposing a three match suspension. Heracles have rejected this proposal and will instead appeal against the decision that was made by referee Ingmar Oostrom.

The red card came in the 13th minute when the number seven lost control of the ball and had to lunge to try and keep it, catching the striker in the process. Just five minutes later and de Jong had made it 1-0, with Olivier Boscagli making it 2-0 around 10 minutes into the second half. Heracles, down to 10 men, struggled to have any say in the game, ending with just 21% of the ball. PSV ended the game with an incredibly high 4.08 xG, 39 shots on goal with 14 on target.
