Whilst Adi Hütter has said that it is highly unlikely that Breel Embolo (27) will feature against FC Metz on Saturday, the AS Monaco manager did state that the Swiss international could be part of the travelling squad.

After suffering an ACL injury at the start of August, Embolo is yet to feature for Monaco this season, however, he could yet play a starring role during the run-in. Having returned to first-team training at the end of February, he is nearing a return and speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Hütter revealed that Embolo could be part of the group to face Metz.

“He is not ready to play just yet. He’s been training fully with us for the last 10 days. It’ll take time. He wants to play but we need to keep it under control. Maybe he could be on the bench. Maybe I can take him to be in the group,” said Hütter.

Camara remains absent

Hütter also provided updates on the other absent players. Guillermo Maripán, who suffered an injury while on international duty with Chile, is out, as is Mohamed Camara. “Maripán is injured and not available. He could be out for three or four weeks. There is good news for Caio Henrique too; he trained with the Groupe Élite this week. Kassoum Ouattara also had a small injury at the start of the week, but he did a full session today and is available. Camara will be back in 14 days, maybe earlier. He’s not 100% fit but on the right path. Mohammed Salisu is also back,” said the Monaco manager.
