Speaking exclusively to Téléfoot, Kevin De Bruyne (32) has praised his Manchester City teammate Phil Foden (23) as a generational talent.
Injury struggles have begun to blight De Bruyne’s career, most notably seeing the attacking midfielder forced off the pitch in both of Manchester City’s Champions League final appearances.
And while the midfielder remains an influential presence on and off the field for his club, even if he has only made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, there has been a sense that the reigning Champions League and Premier League champions have been preparing for a future without their star talent.
A changing of the guard has slowly begun to take shape this season with Foden the anointed successor to the captain, a fact that De Bruyne appears comfortable with, heaping praise on a teammate he believes has the potential to define the modern game.
As De Bruyne stated to Téléfoot, “He is one of the greatest talents I have played with. He can make football history for the next 15 years.”
