Manchester City’s legendary playmaker Kevin De Bruyne continues to be at the centre of transfer interest from the ever-ambitious Saudi Pro League.

Despite the outstanding performances of the 32-year-old during the second-half of the season, uncertainty continues to loom over Kevin De Bruyne’s long-term future beyond the end of the ongoing campaign.

In just 21 appearances of action so far this season, largely due to De Bruyne missing the most-part of the season due to recovery from hamstring surgery, the Belgian has provided six goals and 16 assists across all competitions.

But with his contract set to expire at the end of next season, Manchester City are likely to be subject to proposals from further afield as ambitious suitors aim to take advantage of the situation should the Premier League champions not renew his deal.

As per the latest update from journalist Ben Jacobs, Kevin De Bruyne remains a target for Saudi Arabia ahead of the summer transfer market, but the ‘feeling remains’ that the 32-year-old will stay or extend his Manchester City contract.

In fact, despite the growing conversation around interest from the Middle-East, it is reaffirmed in the latest report that De Bruyne has not indicated that he wants to make a move to Saudi Arabia, having also rebuffed interest last summer.

Jacobs reports that Manchester City ‘do not have a number in mind’ to sell De Bruyne, but from the side of Saudi Arabia and the Pro League, it is claimed that they ‘feel’ over £100 million with ‘significant bonuses on top’ will be necessary if they receive the green light from the Belgian.

Manchester City are understood to be putting together contingency plans ahead of the summer transfer window, should they be called into action to replace De Bruyne on short notice in the event of a Saudi Arabian pursuit.

Regardless of De Bruyne’s future however, Manchester City are likely to be in the market for fresh faces in the middle of the park, with Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes of West Ham and Newcastle United respectively understood to be transfer targets.

Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala could also yet enter the thinking of Manchester City, however the German international is widely believed to be off limits from the perspective of the Bundesliga giants as they aim to renew his contract.
