London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international forward Kyra Carusa from HB Køge.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from London City Lionesses this morning.

The 27-year-old spent the early days of her career playing college football in the United States with Stanford Cardinal and Georgetown Hoyas. In 2019, the player moved to France where she joined Le Havre before signing for latest club HB Køge the following year. Whilst in Denmark, the player got some UEFA Women’s Champions League experience under her belt.

Carusa’s arrival at London City Lionesses will help fill the void left by Rianna Jarrett’s departure earlier this week.

After completing her move to London City Lionesses, Carusa said “It’s always been a dream of mine to play in England and I have always said that I want to be a part of a programme that is doing something historic or playing for something bigger than wins and losses.

“I feel like London City is a programme that really met the requirements and the standards that I was looking for. I didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to do something historic again and that’s why I’m here.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to compete, play highly competitive games, and make a difference for London City right off the bat.”

Carusa will be available for selection once the necessary international clearance has been received.
