Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s choice of goalkeeper for the club’s latest outing has piqued widespread attentions.
This comes with Wojciech Szczęsny again the man tasked with taking his place between the posts.
Shot-stopper Szczęsny is for his part of course fresh off an altogether difficult outing in midweek, during which the Pole made two high-profile mistakes during a Champions League meeting with Benfica.
The widespread assumption, in turn, was that Iñaki Peña would take back over no.1 duties to face Valencia on Sunday evening.
This, however, has not proven to be the case.
Instead, Szczęsny has again been trusted by boss Hansi Flick and his coaching staff, a decision which many have since highlighted as a potential passing of the baton when it comes to the goalkeeper pecking order in Catalunya’s capital.
