Barcelona forward Ferran Torres made the most of his starting opportunity against his former club Valencia, playing a key role in the team’s dominant 7-1 victory.
The Spanish international scored the second goal on the night and created the final one by providing the cross that Cesar Tarrega ultimately turned into an own goal.
After the match, Ferran Torres spoke to the media, expressing his joy that Barcelona had returned to winning ways in La Liga.
“It is clear that we have not been in our best form in the league. This match is a turning point, and today we managed to score a heavy win at home. It has done us a lot of good,” Ferran said.
When discussing his role in the team, Torres emphasised that he always strives to show coach Hansi Flick that he can be counted on.
“It is always important to play and participate. I do not think I have vindicated myself, I just want to make the most of my minutes,” he explained.

Asked about what he can offer, Ferran replied: “I can play in any attacking position, I have a goal in me, and I can provide assists.”
Ferran also shared an emotional moment when he embraced Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby, who had recently returned to the pitch after a serious injury.
“I shared a dressing room with him, and it gave me goosebumps when I saw him come on. I am very proud that he is feeling like a footballer again,” Ferran said.
The Spaniard concluded by discussing his decision not to celebrate his goal and his feelings about his former club.
“We had to focus on ourselves, but from today onwards, I will be supporting Valencia fully. I hope they can win every possible match and secure their survival,” Ferran remarked.
