The left-back spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Ewood Park, making 31 appearances in all competitions for Tony Mowbray’s side.
With his contract at parent club Leeds United expiring at the end of that season, there were some questions as to whether Douglas’ move to Blackburn could have been made permanent last summer.
Ultimately though, no such deal would materialise, despite Douglas admitting he would be open to a longer term return to Ewood Park for this season and beyond.
Similarly, the Scotsman would also see his association with Leeds come to an end last summer, leaving the club following the expiry of his contract at Elland Road.
That left Douglas needing to find a new club for the current 2021/22 season and beyond, something he did by returning to another team he was already familiar with.

Yes No
It was announced in July 2021 that Douglas had rejoined Lech Poznan on a permanent basis, having previously two-and-a-half years with the Polish giants between 2013 and 2016.
This time around, Douglas signed a two-year deal with Poznan, securing his future with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season, and it does seem as though that move ought to be proving a rather enjoyable one for Douglas.
Although he has been forced to settle for an unused substitute role on several occasions for Poznan this season, the left-back has still enjoyed a decent amount of game time.
In total, Douglas has made 15 appearances in all competitions his current club this season, and he does seem to be making a useful impact.
While he has only scored two goals in those outings for Poznan, that is still two more than he registered in more than double that number of games for Blackburn.
As well as that, it seems Douglas’ creativity is also proving effective, given he has matched the two assists he recorded for Rovers last season, during the current campaign in Poland.
It is also worth noting that while last season saw Douglas competing for a Blackburn team that finished in mid-table in English football’s second-tier, even briefly looking over their shoulders at the relegation, the 32-year-old is now part of a side that is two points clear at the top of Poland’s first-tier, a situation that may well be more enjoyable for the left-back.
With that in mind, you get the feeling that while Douglas may well have been keen to stay at a Blackburn side now pushing for promotion to the Premier League, he himself has managed to make some positive progress from an individual perspective, since his time at Ewood Park came to an end.
