Despite facing numerous problems in registering new signing Dani Olmo, Barcelona have not given up their hopes of signing another new attacker this summer.

The club’s initial idea was to bring in Nico Williams from Athletic Club, but that deal is not happening anytime soon.

This has forced Barcelona to look for other alternatives in the market, with Kingsley Coman and Federico Chiesa emerging as two key candidates.

Hansi Flick likes Kingsley Coman

In his latest transfer update, Fabrizio Romano has claimed Barcelona coach Hansi Flick likes the idea of having Coman on the team.

The German tactician has worked with the explosive winger during his time at Bayern Munich, even winning the treble together.

Coman, in fact, scored in the 2020 Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. Interestingly, PSG were linked with a move for the Frenchman this summer, but they have since exited the race.

This has left the door open for Barcelona to try and secure the services of the Frenchman, who is clearly not a part of Bayern’s plans for the new season.

But what’s the catch?

However, despite earning favour from Flick, Barcelona’s pursuit of Coman could be made difficult by the player himself.

As per Romano, Coman’s salary could prove to be way too high for Barcelona’s liking and that is something which could hinder the transfer.

It must be noted that Barça have another option in the market in the form of Chiesa. The Italian, not to mention, is also ready to lower his wages in an attempt to move to Catalonia.

Therefore, it is unlikely Barcelona would make a move for Coman this summer unless the Frenchman is ready to settle for a significant salary cut.
