After eight years in Europe, Guillermo Ochoa finally returned to América and it’s no surprise how strong his roots continue to be for the side that gave him his professional debut all the way back in 2004.
Ahead of Saturday’s Clásico Capitalino clash with Pumas, Ochoa declared that América has never stopped being Mexico’s biggest club.
“There are things that do not change, América has always been the best in this country. Historically they have always been number one and will continue to be.
“This country knows that América is the most important team, which is a team that captures everyone’s attention. The world knows more about América.
“It is the most important side because it has been constant for many years.”
América have won the Liga MX title a record 13 times – one ahead of rivals Chivas.
