Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has once again insisted that he and the club want to keep Bernardo Silva at the Etihad amidst interest from FC Barcelona. However, Guardiola insisted that he is not sure what will happen with regard to the midfielder’s future.

Silva finds himself on the top of Barcelona’s wishlist heading into the final phase of the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old himself is believed to be keen on making the move to Spotify Camp Nou but has so far remained coy on his situation.

Guardiola, who has been quite outspoken about the matter, had previously insisted that while he would want to keep hold of Silva, he would not stand in the way of the player if he wished to leave.

Reiterating his stance, the Manchester City manager has once again claimed that the Premier League champions want to keep the 28-year-old Portuguese ace at the club but does not know what the future holds.

“I said it last week. I want Bernardo Silva here at 100%, or at 110%. I want him, I want him and I want him. Because I love him. The reason why I’m a manager is because I can live and train with players and people, human beings like Bernardo,” Guardiola said, as quoted by The Athletic.

“I’m weak when I talk about him because he’s a special person to me in these years. But I said it before, I don’t know what is going to happen. He knows how much we want him and we love him. At the same time, I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he added.

Silva joined Manchester City from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017 and has grown into a vital player at the Etihad. He has made over 250 appearances for the English champions, winning several titles and trophies.

Whether his time at the Etihad comes to an end before the current transfer window closes remains to be seen.
