MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship continues Friday with the opening encounters in Group A at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Each participating nation will strive to finish among the top two in their respective groups to advance to the Knockout Stage. Additionally, the four semifinalists will clinch a berth in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

United States vs. Guyana

The United States meets Guyana as the two nations seek to add to their histories in the competition.

The United States seeks to reclaim the crown in its 13th appearance after finishing runners-up in the last edition. Kennedy Fuller headlines the U.S. contingent after helping her nation win the 2022 Concacaf Girls' Under-15 Championship, winning the Best Player Award, and the 2024 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship, winning the Top Scorer Award with eight goals. Fuller also helped USA to a third-place finish at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Guyana is coming off a well-rounded performance at the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers. Se-Hanna Mars was the star for the Lady Jags, scoring three of her team’s six goals the qualifiers.

Costa Rica vs. Puerto Rico

Costa Rica will look to get off on a winning start in front of its home fans when it hosts Puerto Rico to conclude the first round of group matches.

Las Ticas will seek to build on a perfect 3-0-0 mark in the Qualifiers. Sheika Scott was one of the stars of the qualifiers with five goals.

Puerto Rico also went undefeated in the qualifiers, amassing a 2-1-0 mark. Players like Ashley McMahon and Analisse Cheema will seek to help Las Boricuas continue a positive run in front of the goal.
