AtlĂŠtico de Madrid win on derby day

Scorers: Lino 39′, Morata 57′, Griezmann 100′, Riquelme 119′; Oblak (OG) 45+1′, Joselu 82′

Real Madrid started on top, with Jude Bellingham rattling the crossbar after skipping past two AtlĂŠtico defenders to create the chance.

Real kept up the pressure and forced Jan Oblak into superb double save to keep the score at 0-0.

AtlĂŠtico took the lead against the run of play as Samuel Lino tucked home a deflected cross on the half volley at the back post to make it 1-0 on derby day.

The home side then threw away their lead just before half time when Oblak completely misread Luka Modrić’s freekick, palming it into his own net to level the scores.

Alvaro Morata restored his sides advantage after pouncing on an unfortunate deflection off Eduardo Camavinga which fell kindly to the Spaniard at the back post for a tap in.

Atletic could have wrapped up the win in the 81st minute after Morata was again found at the back stick but Andriy Lunin made a phenomenal save to keep Madrid in the tie.

And that he did because from that very save, Real went up the other end and equalised after Bellingham’s shot-turned-cross found Joselu at the back stick unmarked to head home for 2-2.

After being recognised pre game for becoming Atlético’s all time top scorer, Griezmann produced a moment of magic to restore his sides lead for the third time, weaving past Vinicius Junior and curling his shot into the top left corner.

The hosts then sealed the win in the final minutes with a slick finish from Rodrigo Riquelme into the far right corner to make it 4-2, sending his side into the quarter finals.

Barcelona overcome Unionistas scare to progress

Scorers: Gómez 32′; Torres 45′, Koundé 69′ Balde 73′

Barcelona overcame an early shock from Unionistas to progress into the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey.

Surprisingly, it was the hosts Unionistas that had the first chance of the game as Mario Losada was played through and struck his shot wide when he should really have scored.

However, they made up for their missed opportunity when they took a shock lead through Álvaro Gómez who, unmarked at the back post, slammed a volley past Iùaki Peùa to make it 1-0.

Barcelona denied the home side a fairytale first half after leveling the scores just before half time through Ferran Torres.

The ex City forward was played through by JoĂŁo FĂŠlix following a corner from Unionistas and ran half of the pitch unopposed before slotting into the bottom left corner to make it 1-1.

Barcelona took the lead for the first time in the tie with a superb strike from Jules KoundĂŠ who rifled a shot past IvĂĄn MartĂnez MarquĂŠs from outside the box.

Barca then made it 1-3 minutes later when Alejandro Balde broke down the left wing and smashed home his effort at the near post to seal the win.
