According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, Rennes have reached an agreement with Brest to sign Mahdi Camara (27). Les Rouges et Noirs are set to pay a fee in the region of €8m to secure the services of the French midfielder.
After an agreement has been reached between the two clubs and on personal terms, the 27-year-old will now travel east to Rennes to complete his medical before being unveiled as the latest addition to Habib Beye’s squad. Camara will sign a 4-year deal that should keep him at Roazhon Park until 2029.
Nice had expressed an interest in signing the midfielder. However, after the Breton club registered their interest in signing the former Saint-Étienne midfielder, he gave his priority to them. Camara did originally agree to join Les Aiglons, but Rennes have swooped in at the final moment to hijack the move.
