Green out for six weeks

Having suffered a broken elbow, Saint-Etienne’s England Under-21s goalkeeper Etienne Green will be out for around six weeks.

It is a blow to new ASSE coach Pascal Dupraz as he attempts to save Les Verts  from relegation. Green hurt his elbow in the 2-0 loss at Reims on December 11 and, as well as breaking his elbow, has suffered ligament damage.

Bottom of Ligue 1 Uber Eats, Saint-Etienne take on fourth-tier Lyon La Duchère in the Round of 64 of the Coupe de France on Sunday. Stefan Bajic, who came on for Green at Reims, could start in goal.
