Granit Xhaka has announced the birth of his second child.

Granit Xhaka has announced the birth of his new baby girl on Instagram, posting a photo of himself, his wife and his child holding hands.

Xhaka’s first child with wife Leonita was expected to arrive during the international break. The midfielder had even admitted to the media that he might end up taking time away from Switzerland over the break for the birth.

It seems the baby arrived earlier than planned, as Xhaka posted an update on his Instagram page saying “welcome our little princess, Mommy and Daddy love you” along with the following picture:

Xhaka had been playing for Arsenal against Bournemouth on Sunday, completing the full 90 minutes, so it must have been a pretty quick turnaround after that for the baby to be born before 11am on Monday morning!

There’s no word yet on whether this will affect Xhaka’s international participation with Switzerland. For the time being, the player has been named in the squad for the break and we’ll assume he’s still going to feature in their matches.
