Milan president Paolo Scaroni has a good relationship with his Fiorentina counterpart Rocco Commisso and the first contacts were made in June 2022. La Viola refused the request at first, but ‘gave in to the attacks’ this January.

A verbal agreement was made whereby Milan will be consulted in the event of a formal offer from another club for Cabral, but the player does not intend to leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the summer.

The 25-year-old was signed by Fiorentina for €14m from Basel in January 2022, and his performances have attracted the interest of Atlético de Madrid, Newcastle and Udinese.

Cabral has made 46 appearances for Fiorentina across all competitions this season, totalling 2,417 minutes on the field. During that time, he has scored 16 goals and provided one assist.
