Today is the day we go behind enemy lines as we take on comedy club theRangers at Ibrox in the eagerly awaited first Glasgow Derby of the season. Forget all the chatter from both sets of supporters about this being a game that’s not gathering any interest, as come noon the city will be ready and willing to back their respective sides as they prepare to do battle.

Make no mistake, theRangers despite their poor start will be well up for the game, that you can count on. The second they see a green and white shirt they’ll up their game, as we’ve found out in recent clashes, so it’s imperative we are fully prepared and focused on the job in hand.

We’ve let ourselves down badly in the last few showdowns against our rivals, especially in Govan where we haven’t tasted victory for two years.

Despite the terrible low of failing to qualify for the Champions League in midweek, we should be in good spirits after an otherwise decent start to the league campaign that sees us hold a one hundred percent record without conceding a goal in the first three fixtures.

We are without Alistair Johnston and of course Jota  but still have a strong squad to choose from with the added bonus of a new recruit in Michel-Ange Balikwisha who should get a Glasgow Derby for his Celtic debut and with it a chance to become an instant hero. So let today be the day that we banish our 2025 Glasgow Derby woes. Let’s hammer this mob today Celtic. Just do it.
